Bosch Platinum+4 spark plugs

Do some research before you waste your cash on these.. they suck for naturally aspirated applications.

Well, I can't really comment on spark plugs, but typically you can't really trust the manufacturer's own information and advertisement, it tends to be self biased. Their site is good for specifications but you should read around this site, other's (especially related to Mazda K-series motors, Probetalk, mx6.com, etc) for experiences and auto component review sites for non-biased opinions (as long as the product company isn't a sponsor)

I can sure as hell comment on Bosch +4 sparks. Don't get them.
japanese ignition systems are built to spark at different insulator and resistor ratios than european automobiles, causing very poor performance, hesitation and misfiring in our beloved MX-3's.

Believe me, I tried it. Been there, done that, got completely disgusted.

NGK's G-power Platinum is what I switched to. If you're not afraid of spending more money, they do have an irridium lineup which is the next step in spark performance, however I severely doubt it'll help your stock setup any noticably.

Bosch gave me a poor throttle response... tap the pedal and the revs go down before up

Bosch also caused hesitation and starvation at high speeds. I could only hit 95MPH before the car didn't know whether it wanted to speed up or slow down. Took a while for the car to get past there... unless it was downhill

These are my own experience added with a bit of technical information. I owned the +4 Platinums for a total of a month and was completely unhappy. Switched to the G-power plugs, love them. Go irridium if you have that absolute hankering to spend more money... and if you feel like completely totally splurging, find the platinums with the super tiny and thin diode that're like 20-30 bucks each

Please don't put these bosch plugs in your precious Japanese import vehicles. I don't care if you put them in american vehicles, because I'm completely unpatriotic like that, I apologize to you people who's waving the "chevy rocks my socks" flags while reading this, I probably don't like you either

Platinum plugs in general burn much cooler than standard plugs. They were designed for turbo and SC applications. Try calling any auto dealer and ask what spark plug they are running in any Naturally Aspirated car. Garaunteed it wont be a platinum plug. For higher mileage engines.. you should run a plug that burns hot.. this will ensure that you get full combustion and it will help burn off oil residue that gets by the rings as they age.

Don't iridium run much hotter than platinum? If that's the case, would those (ignoring the price) plugs be a more attractive N/A replacement over platinums, and a better built option over copper plugs?

I dont know about iridiums to be honest.. I can ask my machinist what he thinks about them.. but likely they are so new he may not have seen how they effect the combustion chamber yet. I will ask him tonight and get his opinion of them, he has been rebuilding engines for 40+ years.. I trust his judgment implicitly.

Majority swear by NGK's G-power platinums, those are the model names.
However, like Tunes was saying, if you change your sparks regularly, you might be better off using something like what, copper?

If Iridium plugs have a much better heat output, I'm switching to those. I like the idea of the plugs burning off the extra unwanteds.
Copper changed regularly - best idea
G-power - very good idea
Iridium - hold your horses, I'd like to research them myself as well
Bosch - bad

I still have my set of bosch's, they have like 200 miles on them. I'd offer them to you, but I don't hate you enough to offer to screw your performance up. Sorry.
