How many amps does it draw?

Wow if I could figure that out that would be the answer right there and im not sure how much amps it puts out the Orion 2500D doe's not suck up power as much as other amps and it keeps a steady 12V and 12.8 sucking from the battery at 3000+ power so im guessing like a little over 200amps..

Thats true, sorry I usually am running on low sleep. What size caps do you have. My brother had a two huge orion amps, I cant remember the wattage and two 1farad caps and had slight dim, that was a few years back though.

Oh no worries and im sorry too I am not trying to act wise talk

. So yeah I am not running any caps. I don't get light dimming with my Orion 1200D so I hope i'll be fine with the 2500D later on.

The key question is how many amps is your alternator putting out? The Optima Red Top is a Deep Cycle battery so you don't need caps as long as the alternator is a high amperage output. The Orion 2500D can draw a huge load in one shot. I highly recommend a 250amp alternator for you guys trying to push this. If your system draws more amperage than the alternator charges with it will kill the battery. Weak batteries in turn kill alternators. Look at the Mean Green high output alternators or the Ohio Generator's high output alternators. It may be a good idea to run two batteries if your only going to beef your alternator up to 130-150amps in which I recommend using a 250amp relay on the hot wire to the second battery with a fuse with in 14in of BOTH pos bat terminal. Chassis ground the second battery so that your not running them in parallel or it will double the voltage to 24v and fry the amp. As for the second battery I highly recommend the Stinger SP-1000....is capable of discharging 1000amps in a single shot and is deep cycle dry cell. use 0ga power and ground wires for the charging circuits.

Oh wow. Yeah im strapping two Orion 1200Ds (2400wrms). It is mostly for show but I think my electrical system can handel for short demos (Stereo at full tilt for 1 minute or less) because that would be crazy letting the bass rip while driving lol blury vision. So what you guys think? All okay just for short demos?.

Would I be fine with this instead of a H.O. alternator?=

no because when it hits it will drain the battery & the alternator charges the battery

Easy way to find out is to check your amps fuse rating!
