I was just wondering what this was designed for....Image and if anyone has ever created something for it.

my guess is to let water out if it gets in the box or another place to get more air in. But hey stock stuff sucks better off with a cold air intake system.

i dont recall that part being there when i took mine off... but its most likely for water... the stock tubing that brings air into ur intake also has a small gizmo that looks like its for that purpose

Its clearly marked in the online manual - its called a resonance chamber - its function is to smooth out the airflow and absorb the various eddies created by TB closing etc. If you remove it the car will sound *slightly* different.
