Hey, anyone have any suggestions on how to stop the panels that flip up in the trunk from rattling? I know the easy way would be to glue them down but they have come in handy a few times when fitting some stuff in the trunk. I already tried putting some type of foam where it overlaps, but that didn't help too much. I might try adding more, unless you guys have a better idea.
Thanks!

You can buy felt pads to stop the squeeking and ratteling. I got mine from Wal-Mart, somewhere in the fabric section I think. They are supposed to be used to keep furniture from slipping on tile and such. You can maybe get them from Home Depot or some other place. Just peel the felt pad off the backing and place it on the bottom lip of the luggage flap. They come in brown and black, but I have had a hard time finding black as I need some new ones. Make sure to clean the plastic with some windex or something to remove grease and such before applying the pads.

The actual metal and glass hatch rattels? It is heavy enough that I've not seen one rattle. If you hear rattle from the outside of the car it is usually the bumper, bumper support or the tag. If your hatch is ratteling then I'd check and make sure all the bolts and nuts are tight. The spoiler is prone to loosen over the years so maybe that is what you are hearing. Give it a wiggle, if it moves tighten it a tad (be careful the studs on the wing are small and thus too much torque will break them in half or break them loose from the wing). I suggest using some thread locker (blue) if you need to tighten the wing.
