Anyone done anything with water channels?

I'm prepping my car for paint, and the water channels on the roof just bother me. Has anyone tried filling the gap with Bondo or weld in metal or anything besides the ugly rubber trim in the seam?

I have never seen that, but I see your idea, I wonder what a smooth roof would look like on a mx.

I don't think bondo or welding it is a good idea. Mazda probably made it flexible for a reason.

Are there any pics of it done? I figured it was the copper car, but the Picures section is out of commission on MOCA.
A writeup of what he did?
