I am replacing my O2 sensors and was surprised to see the cost of the original ones, I noted several universal O2 sensors, with two to four wires and you attach the connectors, are these recommended or has anyone used them?

I converted to 4 wire universal sensor in my 4 cyl - no problems. If you are afraid of cutting/splicing wires then it may not be for you.

No I installed my own engine, thats not going to be an issue, just wanted to make sure the universal sensors will work ok, and do they come with instructions on which wire goes to which contact?

Buy the universals for the same year Ford Probe V6 as your car if it's an OBD1 (92-95). Should all be 4 wires. Use the directions to find the hot wire of the new sensor. On the MX3 wiring you'll use off the old sensor, the hot wire should be blue .... it should be self explanitory from there.

the ebay ones i got came with some weird instructions - a 4 wire sensor has 2 same colored wires (usually black) for the heater and one wire for the sensor signal (usually blue) and one wire for the sensor ground (usually white).
