What the matter with my mx-3

I have a 95 mx-3 4cyl. and every time I put the car in D or R it goes dead I tried rasing the motor speed I check all the fluid's I even tried putting a high air flow fliter on it . it moved.. but very slow ..can somebody tell me what is the matter with my car I just got it started 3 months ago... deep down inside I think it's the trans.... but I don't want to be right

Could be your gas filter. Have you replaced it before?

Have ya taken off the large rubber ribbed intake hose and inspected closely 360* for hairline cracks between the ribs? Common overlooked problem that can cause your described symptoms. When the car is put into gear, the motor flexes a bit in it's mounts, momentarily pulls that hairline crack open = extra unmetered air entering the intake stream, the ECU doesn't sense the airflow increase so the extra air causes a too-lean fuel mixture = stalling. Might not be the prob but costs nothing to check it and a temporary repair can be made with a wrap of duct tape around any cracks til the hose is replaced...
Had this prob years ago on my '90 MX-6 and drove me nuts looking for fuel supply probs til I finally figured out the crack on the underside of the ribbed hose.
