Hey just purchased a 92 Blaze Red GS. It has 229K miles on it but seems to be maintained regularly cause she's still going strong. Got it for $750 so it was a sweat deal. The car has a couple problems though.

The 4w ABS sensor stays on and there seems to be some seizing with the brakes. Do I just need to change the calipers and pads or does it the problem go further?

Since the engine has such high mileage what would the be the first thing to replace to last until a KLZE swap? I don't want to go overboard and replace everything and have it come out to the price of a swap. I just want to drive my car and be safe until the swap happens.

Try cleaning the abs sensors. They are probly old and dirty, which would cause the light to be on, and it would probly make the brakes feel odd (light pulses when braking?). If that doesn't work, I believe there is a relay or something for them, just disconect the system.

If you just plan to do normal driving until the swap, regular maintenance is all you need. Somewhere there is a regular maintenance guide, follow it and you should be fine. Checking the brakes, spark plugs, filters, and fluids is always a good place to start.

Welcome to the board. As far as things to replace to get you to a klze, it depends on your car. With as many miles as you have on your k8 i would check your cv joints for any clicking, and your spark plugs to make sure the valve cover gaskets are good. Both of which are a common problem. Just give her a good once over and you should be good to go. With regular maintenance it seems like our mx-3's last forever.
