No start and fans comming on.
I've got a good one here. Took the car out of storage yesterday so I could start working on everything I need to do for this upcomming season. Start it up today and she fired right up. Idled like a champ. After I let it warm up for a few I touched the gas and the idle got higher. And every time I'd touch the gas the idle would keep going up. I thought this kind of strange so I turned it off. Went to start it again, nothing except the rad fan comes on the second I turn the key to start. No click from the starter or nothing. Just turn the key, rad fan. Anybody got any ideas?

Does the fan still turn on even the engine is cool? Coz its normal for fan to run when the key is at ignition mode when the engine is wam enough.

A couple of things. First, I may have just used jumpers across from the battery to the connections on the starter. That'll be a quick/easy way to confirm as opposed to actually removing and paying someone to test. Next, I'm thinking that the throttle cable being inactive for a period of time while in storage and unless it was lubed just prior to storage or just after, Id say it may be binding itself in the sheathing. That would make the idle accumulate a higher idle each time. As far as the fan part. Well, if for some strange reason you have left the diag box in diag mode than a slight throttle position past idle will trigger the drivers side fan. This would be consistant with stuck throttle cable + diag mode. A strange set of circumstances to say the least. I cannot guess why it wouldn't start a second time for you. If your still encountering "fan - on" issues after the starter issue, then focus on the engine coolant thermosensor related to fan control. Not sure if any of this will help. cheers.
