honing/boring in car

is it possible for shops to bore or even hone the cylinders while the engine is still in the car?? if it helps it is for a 4 cylinder engine...

Possible? Anything is possible.. will you find a place that will do it in the car? No. Pull the engine, strip it down and deliver the bare block to the machine shop. This will get the cylinders bored and honed properly and at the least cost.. then just reassemble it.

yes as far as honing....i've done it before in my car...and my dad has a shop and he's done it before in others. why pull the engine if you don't need to.
as far as boring, i don't believe you can bore that particular engine any more that it is. i read about it somewhere and i think that's what they said.
you'll have to check around about the bore....but you can hone it....bring it up to my dad's shop....i'll do it...lol

thx guys this is actually for my talon and i dont wanna do what i did to my KL engine. i really would like to get good internals for the talon but i dont wanna screw around with them i just wanna get them in! thx for help.

oh...i thought you were talkin about the 4-cyl in the mx-3. what i said before was regaurdin the mx-3. i'm not sure about the talon so disregaurd what i said earlier. sorry

should it matter?? a 4 cylinder vertically is still a 4 cylinder in a car vertically

i don't know. i've seen some 4-cyl that don't have a cradle so i don't know how it would work out.
