There is Not much Made for the sohc. Dont waste your time or money onit from i i gather reading over this forum for the past few months you are better off saving up to get a bp for direct swap.

unless you are looking for a lot of hp then you can stick with the sohc engine... i know that corksport sells a header for the car... and i think you can get a lightweight flywheel also...

i was looking at those genie headers, the bad thing is that the SOHC has the 4-2-1 style, wheras the DOHC has the 4-1 style. does anyone make a 4-2-1 style for the DOHC?

Ya a 2.0L probe header!! Use a 2.0L ford probe header on a DOHC..much better!!

There are a couple of manufacture that still make Tri-Y headers for the B5 SOHC & DOHC. Since the B5 and B6 are identical engines physically. The primary tubes are about 30mm which is about the right size for making power with this size of engine rather than being strictly for show like the header you see with a 1 5/8" tubes. The only problem is that none of these headers are available in North America and these companies have no reps or are full line distribution. I was talking to one of the purchasing guys from one of the Canadian aftermarket importers/distributors just after SEMA. They decided to pick-up part of the line from one company but only for car still in production so the only applications for Mazda's is for the 3,

WHAT??? you do the mods to the header, not the head!!!

i thought you have to drill and tap new holes, and adjust the ports to make them fit the probe header?

yes that has to be done..but you do all the work to the header!! You have to port 2 runners and drill 3-4 new holes!! But again all the work is being done to the header!!

It doesn't matter really. In a SOHC you still wont get the power you want. It's sad to say i know. Just do your best.
