Hey guys i have a 1993 mazda mx-3. It's ATX with a 4cyl engine. I bought the car and found out later after replacing all the fluids that the car doesnt go in reverse and every gear is a "drive" gear. I'm probably looking at a rebuild. I only have
1200 bucks to fix it right now. My question is
where should i take it? It's been fixed b4 and i need to make sure that the job is quality.
Thanks in advance for your replies

$1200 should be plenty...., but where you go to get it fixed kinda depends on where you are now lol!
if your anywhere near ottawa then chris240sx knows of a cheap trans! (check his post)

$1200 should cover the cost.. but if you want to save a bit of cash.. remove and install the transmission yourself.. this will save you 1/2 your cash. On top of that.. it will also leave you cash left over to buy a tranny cooler and possibly even be able to "Beef Up" your transmission rebuild so that it will last longer.

thanks alot guys... i found a used tranny with a warranty for 450 and the labour to put it in will be 300 flat with my mechanic. I live in vancouver and i tried to register on autozone but its only for the US. You think lordco will have a tranny cooler? and should i just get the mechanic to do it when he does the tranny? Thanks Again!
