Hiya MX'ers.
My 96 has dropped doors- livable but annoying especially when I have a passenger and they exit and then have to re-slam the door. Common problem and easy/ways to fix?

Take them off, put them back on again.
When your putting them back; put the four screws in (loose), have a friend lift the other end of the door up a few inches, tighten the screws to the appropriete torque setting.
Thats the easy part.... sort of... Changing the doors is a millions times easier with the fenders off. To get the fenders off you need to remove the front bumper (or atlease part of it). Since your only readjusting you should try it first with the fenders on.

Instead of using a friend to hold the handle end of the door use a floor jack with a cloth covering the metal cup so you don't scratch the bottom of the door. Place the jack at the open end of hte door and you can slightly riase the jack as you need it. Keep opening and closing the door to check fitment. It is best to mark the hinges after you are finished incase they need to be realigned again in the future. (take a sharpie and trace the hinge so that you can get it aligned just the same later if needed)
Also the hinges have some plastic sleeves around the hinge pin. They might have worn out and need to be replaced. I don't know the part number, but Mazda is the only place to get them. I don't think they would be expensive.

If the plastic gromets are ok then all you have to do is loosen the hinge where it attaches to the body of the car; realign by lifting the handle end of the door to the right heigth and then tighten the hinge back.
