Anybody have to get Rear Calipers / Rotors lately?

Q1. If "yes" can you recommend a good place to get the parts?

Q2. Is it just me, or are these little suckers rediculously expensive, seeing how they do next to nothing (so much front-end bias)?

Q3. Anyway, the Brakes FAQ section states that these are Mitsubishi-Sourced. Are they cheaper if you buy the Mitsu part, rather than going by the Mazda part number?

Q4. This is the second time in about three years that in particular, the Passenger Side Rear brake caliper has gone to apcrae (pig-latin). Is there something else (proportioner?) that should be looked at, that may be contributing to this recurring problem, or are these brakes just crap?

The rears are just basically crap. Eventually they freeze up and cause rotor warp.

probably should get some rebuilt ones or do what i did...rebuild the rears yourself.

I have a spare rebuild kit...i bought 2 thinking 1 per cali but turned out the kit included enough for both so I have 1 extra. $20 shipped if you are interested. includes 2 slider boots, 2 piston boot, 2 piston seals & some misc grease stuff for the slider.



And yea our calipers are mitsubishi but i'm not sure what car (if any) had the same ones & if there even is a mitsu part number.

Remember....every solenoid on your car is a mitsubishi part, so there are probably other parts that mazda used from mitsu (they aren't only an automotive company they make all kinds of electronics).

The best luck i found finding parts for the rear cali's was online parts shops. I special-ordered the rear caliper kits at 25 a pop & waited a week from advance auto lol. Every online shop had similarly priced caliper rebuild kits (if they even had a listing).
