My first car, got it in 2000 at 105k. So far good engine, good tranny.

list of things I had to fix:
timing belt (x2 - second time belt died on the highway, previous mechanic fucked it up)
radiator (cracked for some reason, cost me a good $600 4 years ago at Canadian Tire to replace)
Muffler + pipes (x2)
Recently had to replace Ball Joints, left steering rod (or wheel rod?) and CV joint.
I'm driving with a cracked air intake sealed with duct tape.

This year I may have to replace my caddy, front calipers, air intake, and hopefully that's it!

So far not bad. I think I totalled about $1800 in fixing/parts alone the past 5 years.

Is the fuel filter worth replacing at 240K? I am not sure if the previous owner had it replaced. But it's a b---- to get in there and replace it.

Sorry about the messy post :)

Changing hte fuel filter is always a good idea, especailly if your running a low grade fuel.

It's not that hard just pull the battery tray and that should be good.

Get ready for a tranny swap or rebuild because the automatic is known for it :(

Indeed...terrible terrible mechanism. Unless fully race built. =D
