Changing the lights behind the dashboard dials?

I want to change the normal green lights behind the dash and the ventilation nobs to blue ones. Is it the actual lights that I have to change or the actual dials?
And please don't tell me to get the white racing dials, with the blue lights (don't like them very much), unless the dials are black.
Thanks

no they are bulbs....there are two sizes though..the smaller size is 74....
If you decided to do this make sure you have enough bulbs with spares....just in case...

there is also a green tint behind the gauge faces. also, the bulbs are clear bulbs, but they have a green filter on them that you can remove. i know because i pulled the filter off and put the bulbs back in and the gauges were STILL green. if you take out the bulbs and shine a flash light through, you'll see what grants and i mean.

So, I have to change the bulbs AND the filter behind the gauges?? Is it easy to do? Where would I be able to get the blue filters or bulbs from?
Thanks

i think the back of the gauges are painted with this green tint. you'd have to figure out what color when passed through a green filter will give you blue. either that or aftermarket gauges. speedhut.com has great options.

I know that you mix blue and yellow to make green, so the bulb idea wouldn't work. I'll have to change both.
Thanks

Plexiglass acrylic sheets come in different colors. I've seen yellow colored sheets available.

Not sure if they are available thin enough to fit in back of the dash.
Was wondering

Was wondering how you got on stainless? I too would like to have blue gauges but dont like the white facia on the aftermarket ones. Any one have an old cluster that they can take apart and investigate this? Try the yellow filter and see if it makes blue or remove the green one ?????
