DONT TELL HIM!!!!! HE CANT WIN THIS RACE!!!

For those who dont know, it seems me and barry do our swap litterally at the same time, so we consider it a "RACE". We did our kfze swap at the same time, and we're doing our ZE swap at the same time. The really funny thing is, we always have an extremely similar setup. Except last time i did some work to the internals of my KFZE and this time He did some work to the Internals to his Klze.

So dont tell him!!! i wanna be 2 and 0 since i beat him Last time with the kfze.

or tell him cause ill still kick his butt when he comes down to race me :)

O.K guys...you both just got passed by the ready to be installed altinator because your too busy thinking about the track. :rant2:

I have not heard of this swap and was wondering what are its benifits?

Plus my tip to conclude is to check the 626 haynes manual. In fact I will look into it myself tonight.

I think it has to do with Millenias only, unless the 626 has a 3 wire.

Ive seen +12V to it and some say +5. I want to be sure so I dont fry it.

Barry, why don't you just use your alternator from the k8? I have the curveneck ze in my car and had the same problem with the wiring harness, I just swapped out the ze alt for the k8 alt and have had no problems at all. Maybe there might be more amperage with with the millenia? If you are running a system I guess there might be problems. I'm just running an aftermarket head and stock speakers. I realized I'd rather have tools taking up space and weight in my trunk rather than subs. This was my first swap you know and I'm still waiting for that day where I'm stuck on the side of the road. lol.... 10000 miles on the engine so far and haven't been there yet.... (emphasis on yet)

HAHAH..

I didnt want to use the k8 alt, with the carPC I wanted a few more amps.

As far as reading the FAQ.. I put it there :)

I know it said 12V, but since curt seems not to be around anymore, The diagram posted was gone. I searched PT and lakersfan1 said it was +5V, some said +12V. I wanted to be sure from someone who has done it before.
OF course I can grab anywire that has 12V, but amperage was my next question. I dont wanna have to pull the alternator cause Ive fried it by putting too many amps to it.

I believe the ZE and the Millennia alt's have a higher current output by about 20 to 30 amps. Barry are you asking about the extra or orphan wire that doesn't seem to go anywhere? I've got a back-up (used) being shipped to me as we speak which I'm thinking on having re-wired/re-wound where it will have an output of approx 200amps. Got this info from Relisys (Brandon) in London, Ont.

i know, that's why i found it funny. so, does your faq re-write mean that you agree with the 12v? i don't think you can 'put too many amps to it' because from what i know, electrical loads only pull what they need and not what's available. otherwise you be blowing fuses constantly.

Seems to be a bit of confustion :)

I knew when I tackled this that I could have just used my K8 Alternator which has 90A.
Being as I will have a carPC in there I needed the 110A, besides I had it anyway.

Zoso124 got me the bracket and harness so I have all of that spliced. The middle wire is IG. Based on what I read on PT Lakersfan1 said +5V, I knew the FAQ from curts post said 12V, but I cant always assume 1 person is correct. Im just trying to find out who has done it and verify it.

The motors in the car already, I dont wanna have to pull out the alt when The wires are spliced but that 1 wire :)

I believe if I ran 60A over a 12mm wire it may tend to get a little hot.
Im unsure of what the electonics call for in the alternator, I dont wanna fry it :)
