I was wondering if I could hook up a dummy dual exhaust on my 4cyl mx-3, I wanted to run a pipe off the main one, and make it dual...think it would cause any backpressure problems???

cant imagine having back pressure issues, if you can take a standard engine remove the cat ant mufflers and just put a end pipe on and that is fine? so if you were joining the pipes surely its a similar set up to that? unless you taking the 2 pipes seperatly from the manifold then you would just have to reduce the pipe size?

The further back you split it the less complications you'll have.

No, you wont have any problems running a dual exhaust like that. Mine has a tee on the main pipe. Works well.
