COMPLETED: False Floor Trunk Sub & Amp Project

Not much to enjoy, as the site is too slow to even show the pics.
And I would very much like to see them all, as I`m currently working on a false floor and glassfiber covering of the sides around the trunk.

Yeah man, before this project, I had a 10" sub in box taking up half of my trunkspace. This project has been over 2yrs in the making (collecting parts, and finding the time to do it). Now that it's finally done, I LOVE all the recovered trunk space. Much better than before.
Plus I only recently got the grill for the sub, so it's reassuring to have it protected in case anything falls onto it.
The panel that the amps/cap/distribution block are mounted to is hinged at the bottom, so I can flip the back seats down, then flip up the panel to get at the wiring behind the equipment. I've also hinged the 2 sides of the false floor, cuz I couldn't get it in and out of the trunk in one piece if it went all the way across.

Very nice.
I used to have a sub box/glassed into the spare area, but I was too worried about the safety of the sub. I am a little rough on my cars, esp the trunk area, tools, shopping, etc. With my new systems, I'm going to be removing one of the quarter plastic panels and glassing in the sub. Makes more trunk room, and lesser fear of sub damage.

Yeah, that's why I was still using it sparingly until I recently got the grill (it was back ordered for Ages from JL). Now I wont have to worry about anything falling on the sub. It's actually recessed into the floor, so after the grill is put on, it's almost flush with the floor.
I didnt use any fibreglass with this project. The spare tire well is lined with dynamat, then the sides are lined with soundproof foam.
