ok so i was lookin over it prepping to install my integra intake and i noticed 2-3 hoses attatched to the bottom section of the airbox, with the little mitsubishi logo. so i'm gettin rid of the entire airbox right so where do those go?

am i lookin at drilling holes into the CAI an attaching them into that??
if so what part

thanks!!

Hoodzy, I've got an idea. Since you've got about 200 posts under your belt, I'm sure you are well versed with the search function. Augment that search with the technical info from the on-line shop manual. Print out a copy of the vaccum layout/diagram and thoroughly go over it...over and over again. With copy in hand and physically looking into the engine bay, trace the relevant parts of that diagam's layout as it pertains to your CAI install. Previous BB member's posts with a plethera of pics, their own car domain sites, the manual and just good old common sense will be more than adequate to get you through this relatively simple mod. I'm sure that after 200 posts you are familiar with the term "spoon fed". Let us know how your CAI turns out.....YOU'LL DO JUST FINE!!!!

OK, first, what piece? If you want specific answers you need to provide specific details. I'm going to assume that it's the flex tube between the TB and the VAF. By now you must be quite familiar with the inherent/potential problems with the accordian style flex tube. If not kept completely clean and maintained they will, over time degradate, split, crack to a point that you will get a vaccum leak. Vaccum leaks are a bad thing so check your tube to ensure it's integrity. How do you do that? Good question, couple of ways. Use a small refill bottle for butane lighters that can be released by hand control. While the engine is running spray in patterns around the accordian tubing. If the idle speed picks up (goes higher) than you've found the leak. Conversely, you can use a water bottle/misting spray type and do the same procedure. The results will be a slowing of the idle speed.
[Saw your post in TPS thread] Since you know how to pull codes, did you go to the online manual (page F2-86) and follow the instructions there? Did you disconnect or break the TPS connector by mistake while removing the accordian tubing since it's in close proximity?
Don't get discouraged. We all break and f*ck things up from time to time, even the pro's. Post back after you've gone through some of this stuff and we'll take it from there. You'll get through this.

PS The on-line manual is your friend.

Check your vacum lines, you could have pulled the one loose that goes to the egr. Pull the codes. Check everything that you messed with.

For the record, 200 posts does'nt mean nothing.

Welcome to my world Hoodzy, Mine did the same thing when I got my intake on. Let me know when the misfiring starts coupled with the loss of HP starts. :( Anyways, make sure you leave the 3 tubes attached to that thing with the DSM logo on it. I retardedly took mine all off and left it that way for awhile and things haven't been the same since.

For those 2-3 hoses that used to be attached to the bottom of the stock airbox... you guys with the Integra CAI say to leave them hanging loose, right? Well, for those of you who have the PRM intake instead, do those hoses connect to this unit or are they still left hanging loose as well???

I've been thinking about that ever since I decided to take it off the road for the winters last last year. It looks like shyt because that's the original rustproofing that the original owner put on on day one. That along with undercoating and paint protector was all done before it left the showroom floor. Aside from the lower control arms and a very few small bits in the suspension, there is absolutely no rust on the undercarriage or in the engine bay. But I think your right, if I pull the engine this winter, I'll break out the spray9 and toothbrush and have at it. I thought you would have noticed my new signature by now...I like white....LOL
You know I tried to copy your CAI also. Nothing wrong with following the path of those that went before me.

So what did you guys do with the vacuum line that goes to the EGR Solenoid Valve?

If I just leave it near the air filter, will this cause me to throw a code?
