hey ppl i'm new with this site but i have question i have a 1993 mx-3, i'm trying to find some brakets to put on my racing seats, the seats are from APC. but everywhere i gone too they don't make brakets for mx-3. if any body knows where i can find brakets for mx-3 please let me jnow thatnx

I'm getting ready to install some as well. My seats are by DAD but style is like Corbeau and I've read past threads that the Corbeau brackets/rails for the 91-96 Escort are a direct fit for the MX-3.

Hey neutral.. when you get your new brackets.. can you take a pic of your old brackets side by side with your new ones before you install? I would like to see where the mount points for the seats and the floor are in relation to each other (new vs. old) Thanks man

i tried to order these a while ago, but the problem is you have to buy the seats & rails together

I don't know if this would help anyone, but I have some racing seats from Kirkey. They don't make brackets, and I couldn't find any that would work for like 3 years. Then I found some metal fabrication shop that was willing to spend the day with me making some custom brackets. We spent 8 hours going back and forth from the car to the shop and finally came up with a steel plate that bolts directly into the seat mount points. Then I went home and drilled holes in the plate and the seat to mount the seat to the plate. They look great and are a totally awesome custom job.

Anyway, my point being, if anyone can't find a bracket that works for their seat, I'm sure I can have these guys make a few more sets of these brackets. They are a universal fit for any seat. You'll just have to drill holes in the plate to match the mounting holes in your seat (I used a regular drill with a steel bit from Home Depot). MY cost was $80 but that was mostly for their time. I'm sure now that they know what to do, it would be a bit less.

So let me know if anyone is interested...just a thought...

i try to order the brackets but i want to make sure they have the same measurements as APC has.

I have a set of Tenzo R rally seats in mine and i just used the universal brackets that they came with. Had to do some welding and such but really wasn't that big of a problem.

I want to store the stock seats with their brackets intact since they can't be used as bolt-on for the new seats - so welding not an option here. I see cardomain has the same brackets listed under Sparco as I linked above, for Corbeau, even has same p/n 986 & 987. best idea is to go to a small time metal shop and get them to cut metal pieces for you. i had a shop cut some for me and I drilled the holes myself. i also used the factory seat rails. The seats just sit a little high though(they are APC seats) and from what I hear these seats sit a little high to begin with.

That's what I was saying. I found an excellent group of guys that made my seats sit just as low as stock. Mine are Kirkey though, as I stated above, and I didn't use the stock rails, but I didn't want mine to move anyway.

I tried, i drilled new holes, mounted the seats on the sliders...no prob.

I installed the passenger side and it was a-- crooked...towards the door.

The inside slider mounts higher in the seat.

kinda off topic...anybody have their stock black/teal seats layin around after the installs?
