ebay short shifty

Got one of these puppys for x-mas and finally put it on. The install was quite easy except for the fact that it did not have bushings. The shifter is the one with the chrome ball knob that comes w/ the shift bearing pre installed. I attempted to use the old bushing, because i'm stupid and didn't order the srd bushing kit. I, of corse was not able to get the old rusted bushing out, as stated by tons of people on these forums. End result: The shifter is more wobly than before, but the throw is beautiful, very short. For the money spent, sans the bushing part, a great mod for the $ It is in and running, but will be removed again to make room for the srd bushings I just ordered. Another side note on the instal is that I had to slightly shorten the retaining spring because the new bearing was a bit taller than the stock plastic crap and didnot have enough room to fit. Minus messing w/ the bushing, the install took about 30 min.

Yeah, I finally got around to installing my TWM SS yesterday. Well worth the money IMHO. It reduced the throw to almost nothing and it sits like 2 1/2" lower in the car so it looks nice. Plus it uses a bearing instead of the bushings which makes it tight and smooth. I'm thinking about using my extra bronzoil bushings to make my own 3rd link kit. :P

I just installed the Pacesetter. Only problem with it, is it's bigger at the bottom where you put the bushings in. You can make that shifter low. I had an OBX, and I don't think it shortened it at all.

The actual shifter is about 1.5 to 2" lower than stock. The throw was shortened a lot as well. It feels like the trow is like half that of the original, but i'm prolly exadurating a bit. I believe my fiance' payed about 40 bucks shipped for it. If I had the $$$ I definately woulda got the TWM, but for some ebay stuff its pretty decent. Plus it has a big shiney ball on it, LOL

I believe its the kit that comes with the bushings for the front and back section of the shifter bar itself. Not sure, I just called and asked which ones I needed.
