since it's been nearly 3 years (2002) since david coleman wrote the FAQ about basic mods, i was wondering if anything has changed. in it, he described 2 available aftermarket CAI systems--the HKS and the PRM...
-how come i can't find this HKS CAI system for the V6 anywhere online?
-since the write-up is kind of outdated, has there been any other available CAI's built for the V6?
-i read people talking about slightly altering an Integra CAI to fit the mx... any helpful links to describe the process and tell me which year/brand to look for?

i just read a website questioning the true effectiveness of CAI systems, stating that only 1-2 hp is gained... is that true? that, coupled with running the risk of the engine sucking up water w/ a CAI, has got me thinking that my money is better spent elsewhere in making my car faster... thoughts?

The truth of it is you already have a CAI - thats the tube running across the front. But you're right theres a lot of talk about this and its discussed in a lot of other threads. Don't know what keywords you've been using if you've done a search but maybe do a search on "cone filter" and you'll get some good posts debating this issue.
“You’ll find, that the only thing you can do easily is be wrong, and that’s hardly worth the effort.”
I’m fairly positive its true that you don’t see more than 1-2hp from CAI BUT that doesn’t mean they don’t increase performance smoothing out your revs etc. It’s less restrictive. As for the water issue I think most people with CAI systems on there MX3's will tell you they never have had that problem... Unless you stick your filter down by your heat shield and you drive through a puddle I don’t think you honestly have anything to worry. Or you go off roading and drive through a really deep patch of water. I’m sure someone else can explain this better than me. Edit. I had my CAI for 6 ½ months problem free(until i got into my accident which my CAI obiously didnt cause).
Ever notice anyone driving slower than you is an idiot and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?
