I'm pretty sure the FE3 is the old turbo mx-6/ probe motor...
This is from Drag323
Yes i ran 10.8 @ 127 1.53 60'
The motor is the FE3.
I have some boost creep when i go on the dyno,
i'm not able to pass 5600 rpm when he creep.
At 16-17 lb at 5400 rpm just before he creep:

400whp and 385 lb-ft of torque.

I'm solve my problem last saterday at 21.00h
and i've no time to return on the dyno(drag monday)

I take a chance for my a/f and i turn the boost at 23 lb.and i shift at 7000 rpm(2 times 8000)

That's my results.

Next year turn the boost to 35 lb
He goes on to say everything needs to be customized and that it is definately not for the faint of heart or those with slim pockets...
EDIT: while there is no specific writeup on this swap there are quite a few on BP/BPT/B6T swaps. Check the 4cyl Faq...

the F2T is the PGT turbo motor, the FE3 is the DOHC version of it

If your gonna spend that kind of money I'd suggest doing a BP stroker. If you hand endless pockets and wanted that much trouble then go for the Mazda 6 or MAZDASPEED 6 2.4L I4 (turbo version in Mazdaspeed 6). Although at that point you'ld be better of just buying the whole car...LOL.

Guess the main question you need to ask your self first is.....how deep are your pockets?

I've got about $15-20K in my car now. I'm still looking at about $10K more to go.....$25-30K more if I'm going with a Quaife or Xtrac tanny. If I did mine over I'd went stoked BP. I'm sticking with the B6T for now just for bragging rights and the fact that I have 3 B6T's is kinda presuading me to stay.

Having owned a 1st gen MX6 (same engine as PGT) I will tell you the F2t sucks. The turbo is far undersized and the engine is a torque monster. You think keeping a tranny together is hard for a DOHC motor, try the F2t. itll shred through them with no real benefits.

I prefer the high revving DOHC engine myself.

The Fe3 is the jspec motor that swaps into the 1st gen probe\mx6. It does not come turbo and for the work you're better off just using a BP and turboing it. Very similar design anyways.

This is what I am thinking too. If anyone is serious then they should go Stoker BP then turbo the heck out of it! BP's are stroung engines and as Ma-Ze has got 400+ hp out of the 1.8L BP w/ stock internals That is amazing! So ya go BP or Go home!

mx6.com has a bunch of dudes with that engine.

and when i was in melbourne i had the pleasure of meeting some fellow mx3ers one who was going to swap the FE3 Turbo.

ideally he would be done by now but not sure.

he used to post in the eunos forum area

Haha funny you post that. I know that guy personally and have ridden in his car on several occasions.

Anyways like i said the FE3 DOES NOT come turboed. It requires building a whole kit. You're better off with the BP. End of story.
