A dumb clutch/brake question...

Since the MX-3 uses the same fluid for the clutch and the brakes, why is it the clutch will go soft when it's out of fluid, but the brakes are fine?

You're not out of fluid if your brakes are fine. :)

A soft clutch can happen for several reasons...

-the fluid is low (but brakes would suffer as well)
-the clutch line is old and worn (causing the rubber to expand and feel "spongy"). This can be replaced with a stainless steel line from corksport for about $20 US.
-the clutch disc is dead. But you would notice slipping as well as a mushy clutch.

How hard is the clutch suppose to be in a GS? It's the first stick i've owned so I had nothing to compare it to. But then I had to drive someone's civic (ick) for them and the clutch was extremely easy to push in compared to mine, you didn't even feel it because it was so light. Same with an integra I had to move for someone.
Is my clutch messed? Or is it like my friend's mazdapseed he had, the clutch would make your leg tired it was so tough.
