I have a quick, but probably dumb question... How do I remove the manual window cranks? Is it held by a "U" clip or screws? My driver side window is open about 1/4 inch and I can't get it to roll up or down. I think the window crank is disengaged somewhere inside. I don't think the window is removed from the part that pushes it up or down as I can't push the window down or pull it up by the glass. TG I live in central FL, or I'd be freezin my azz off.

This is on a 93.

Yes it is.. if you press on the door panel itself.. you can see more of the handle and how its held on. You can use either some needle nose pliers or maybe a flat head screw driver to pop out the "U" clip. then the handle pops right off. be careful, they are springy. I lost mine one time popping it off and had to go get another one from a parts store.

I use one of those 7 shape tools to pop them out.

yeah a window crank clip removing tool works best. you can use it to safely remove and install the clips. THEY ARE ONLY ABOUT $5 TO BUY. For that price, just use the right tool. I've used screwdrivers etc, before, and for the hassleof it all you will find it easier to use the proper tool. Available where they sell tools

Thank you very much for the quick replies. I'm now familiar with the inner workings of my MX3 door.

My window "pulley" for lack of a better word came off,
on the inside of the door.

Is this normally held with bolts? When I pulled the door panel,
no nuts fell to the ground, but I was able to find 3 nuts in my bro-in-law's toolbox that were a match, so I popped it back on. The tar stuff that
glues the plastic onto the door is a pain in the a--.

On a side note, is the window mechanism in the MX3 what they use
these days in cars? The last car I had to deal with the window was
an 85 Nova, and it had the scissor jack to raise and lower the window.
