Hey... I just bought a 93 mx-3 RS and im loving it. Its obviously n ot the fastest car around. I was wondering how they differenciate. Like I really ride mine but its just a 4cyl so it don't go up too fast. I'm wondering if I did a bad thing with getting a RS. I had to change the motor in it and it was kind of a pain. Its running really well now. I'm also thinking of getting a GS to modify. If im gona swap the engine and everything in it should I care about the motor thats in it when I buy it?

The 94 and 95 RS are tolerable. 92 and 93 are not, IMO.

mine is pretty fast, but mine aint stock, going from a RS to a GS feels like a huge leap, but they arent that fast

the GS (v6) is 130 hp
92-93 RS are 88 hp
94-95 (and above if you're lucky) are DOHC 105hp

the 4 cylinder can still do the BPT and other engine swaps to make it worthwhile, check out the 4 cyl tech forums

My friend has a GS and I have a 96 RS. We are both mad convinced that my RS is faster. Obviously it's not, but the shorter gear ratio and angry 4-banger noise make the RS feel just as fast, if it more. Unless you're racing or collecting stats, the RS will do you just fine.

I wish the RS was as quiet as the GS (HUGE difference) but I honestly perfer the RS feeling. Slightly slower with much better fuel economy...yes please.

bpt swap and youll handle any GS in fact most vtec powered hundahs

gs and the rs are night and day IMO

The GS also has the nicety of being inherently stable (why they made a small v6, because 4-bangers are unstable at higher sizes)

Take a GS into the upper revs and it will sound niiice. Really it is night and day between RS and GS, however they are all good at cornering and agility.

Actually the GS even has better suspension components.
But as for the speed department I believe the RS runs mid to high 17's
and the GS mid 16's low 17's stock . Correct me if I'm wrong but thats what I thought i read awhile ago .
