LEAKING AUTO TRANSMISSION......

Anyone out there or does anyone know of someone that has had a leaking tranny? I can't move the car at all. It's like there is no gear that works........ even though if I put it in drive or reverse for example, the revs does drop as if it is working fine once released from park. I'm hoping it is just a bad seal and not the whole transmission gone bad. I tried adding more fluid to it but it seems to be leaking right out, so, I hope this is just a minor thing that can be fixed.

I had that problem a few weeks ago. Wound up replacing one of the lines going into the tranny and it seems to be holding up for now. But I feel your pain man.

Hey, thanks jplar. I'm going to look at the lines tommorrow morning and hopefully that'll be what it is. I knew that the auto trannys in these cars are so so, but I just fell in love with that blaze red paint and the nice interior.

THIS SUCKS!

I checked the lines and I found something much worse that was the cause of the problem......... It seems as if the transmission was either hit by multiple rocks........ or it blew up from the inside out! There's a 3 inch hole on the left side and a 1 inch hole on the bottom! Well, I guess it's off to a good reputable junkyard to find a good tranny for about $500....or, I can go to Autozone and by a newly rebuilt one for $1300,! not including the core charge.

Life goes on........... too bad my shiny red MX3 will be down for a month though!
