ATX Slipping
Looking for some help. I have a 1992 MX-3 GS, 1.8 auto. The tranny will slip when it is cold. As soon as the temp gets to operating, it is fine. It has 210,000Km on it and I changed the fluid and strainer ( I got the car used). Is this terminal??? If so, what shops in the Toronto, ON area do you know, that I can go to for used MX-6/626 atx swap?? I want to keep the car, just don't want another money pit. Thanks.

Re: ATX Slipping
Check your fluid level. When its cold the fluid sits and as it gets warmer it actually moves thru the tranny. Its possible you just have a leak.

Thanks.
I checked the fluid level cold and hot and it is OK. There are no oil stains on my driveway.
I tossed in a bottle of the Lucas Oil treatment. Still slips when cold, but now shifts way better when it's warm. Anyone have any contacts for a tranny shop in Toronto???

Re: ATX Slipping
My atx will always shift bad when cold, in the winter I need to leave the car running for a good 5-6 minutes before I get going other wise it will shift hard.
In the summer I let it warm up for 2-3 minutes before going.
