Tranny probs.. you've gotta be kidding me

Post by Sonicxtacy02 »

Well friends i'm back again! Last night i was out on the highway in 4th when the car started surging back n forth. I pulled over and there was alot of smoke coming from the engine bay. The car was driving fine other than the fact that the rpms werent matching the speed. I left the car in first and babied it back to the garage and left it there over night. To this point i thought it was an oil prob. I just walked up to the garage and there's a ton of tranny fluid all over the rear of my car as well as a puddle under then front of the tranny. Looks like i'll be gettin towed by the lovely people of aamco transmissions AGAIN. For anyone counting thats 5 times in the last 2 months

Its quite possible its not the transmission itself but a burst tranny oil cooler line. They are prone to rust. I have had this happen twice, its shoots fluid all over and hits the exhaust manifold and creates a lot of smoke. If its not your tranny and they wont fix it under warranty the lines are pretty easy to replace (if thats what the problem is). I used a set of an Mx6. Had to re-bend them though....

i gotta call from them today and it needs yet ANOTHER rebuild. Thats gonna put a stall on selling the ZE. Each time the front seal has been the weakpoint. Anyone else had a problem with the front tranny seal? I'm really tired of this whole ordeal. I might as well get sponsored by nascar as many times as this car has had a new transmission installed
