no it hasnt happened yet. But its an option! Check this out.Level 10 PTS shiftronic<p>slightly more than $1000 for the parts, but its an external job as far as i can tell. I'm not sure how it would work with the stock shifter. You'd probably get a downshift/upshift button that activates once the shifter is in drive. What do you guys think?

are sequential shifters universal? because ive seen some sequential shifters (up/down) for rx7s, 240sx, and integras on importfan.com for $1000 and over. im pretty sure those kits just give you a special shifter and the wiring needed to do the job since most of the atx transmission is electrical right?

btw how does that shifttronic work for reverse...is it shift up once to go to 1st, then downshift once to go to neutral, then downshift again to go to reverse?

its P R N D 1 2 like normal. When youre in D you have the option to move the shifter to the side and shift up for upshift and down for downshift

The new Mazda6 comes with a tiptronic type transmission, i dunno if this is an alteration to an existing tranny or a completely new one, adding one of these babies to yer MX3 could be an answer for all those wanting to play with their knobs!
