So I broke my fuel gauge...
My question being.. I snapped off my fuel gauge while being impatient and fitting indiglos on... my question is this.... Is the fuel empty light, and the gauge completely independent? As long as it will tell me when I'm empty.. I dont got a problem with it.... P.s: anyone selling an mx3 cluster?

Man, that sucks. Check around junk yards. I'm sure you can find something. Good luck!

Re: So I broke my fuel gauge...
Dont' worry chasing size, i just fixed mine after having it broken for 17 months from the same thingm, indiglos.
I got tired of resetting my travel meter. Just fill it up and make sure that you reset the travel distance thing on your dash. After about 500 KM (on standard) you should fill up. Thats how i did it.
If you go to the junk yard and get lucky, unscrews the little fuel thing from the cluster so you only have the fuel copper wire and the fuel guage on it. You can stick that into the one you broke and it will work. The reason yours doesnt work, is because you prolly cut into the bottom left on an angle. Which is what i did, but when u do that the guage doesn't have a little plastic clip to stop it from going aroud. And that is why it goes to full. At least it did on mine.
Hope it helps.

Re: So I broke my fuel gauge...
While we're on it, should the fuel gauges from e '94 Mx3 fit into a '96 Mx3? Im guessing yes but i just wanna make sure before i ask the salvageyard to send it here.. (yeah i actually found one in sweden

Using the trip tach kinda sucks because you can't be too accurate.. 1/4 talk of gas in our cars is a huge diff in weight/power ratio. I rarely put more than 4 gallons in at once. When I had my k8 is was <3. You can really tell the diff.

umm...the fuel light is completely independent from the fuel gauge itself. I had a busted needle on mine and the light still came on about 1/4 tankish.
