first of all, i will be swapping my atx v6 1.8l engine into a mtx v6 klze 2.5l engine. thanks to ryan i probably will be doing that a year earlier than expected (from next summer to this summer). so i need help or advice from ne one that can help me out in this category. where should i look or where can look for the necessary parts that i will need for this swap? ie. should i go aftermarket all the way? <<<can i? or do i need to find another mx-3 with the manual transmission to get the necessary parts.<BR>by necessary parts i mean: the clutch, shifter, etc., etc., that are needed for the mtx. about how much am i looking at that needs to be spent to buy these parts alone? am i way above my head trying to do such a swap? i know that it can. but what i mean by that is: am i facing a project that will take a lot of hassle and all.<BR>any help with this would be appreciated.<BR>thanks<BR>gabriel

Well, I would actually get the tranny from an MX-6. I've heard you get better gas milage from them. I think you need everything from the sterio back inside, and there are a few things outside. If you have a MTX donor car, you will need everything from the tranny back as far as shifting mechanisms go. It is NOT an easy swap. It would be too costly to go aftermarket. I'm not sure if the MX-6's shift linkage is the same as the MX-3, you'll have to do more research, but the 1.8L and 2.5L tranny will bolt right up.
