I've been looking up local 1/4mile tracks for this spring, when I would like to go down there and give my comepletely stock car a run once :-) However, there are some rules at the closest local strip:

"14:00 & Up
Catch can
Seat Bealts
Neutral Saftey Switch"

Can anyone explain what those things are?

it means if your car runs the quarter mile in 14.00 or slower you need these basic safty items.

1) you have to have a coolant "catch can" or overflow bottle, all cars made from about 1970 and up have them (its the bottle that hold your coolant) so dont worry about it. (unless you took it out for some reason)

2)you have to have seat belts, I would hope you have these.

3)You have to have a netural safty switch installed on your car (if its an automatic), this is what prevents your car from starting unless it in park or neutral.

So, if I've got the 5spd manual transmission, I should be okay with the neutral safety switch thing?

Thanks for answer the questions curt.

yah, just make sure that your clutch switch works.( the car dont start unless the clutch pedal is depressed)
