I was thinkiing it would be cool to targatop my Mx3 since I dont have a sunroof... has anyone done it? any pictures? any idea on the general cost? Will it need extra support since I'd be having part of the roof cut off?
thanks,
Craig

If you want a Targa car similar to the MX3, look for a Nissan NX2000. Don't waste the money it would take to do it correctly with proper reinforcement, gaskets, custom targa pieces, etc.

I looked for an nx when I bought my MX3. there werent any, and I needed a car. I just thought it might be kinda cool, and not TOO expensive.

Well, you thought wrong.
Any MAJOR body mods like that will cost several thousand dollars to do it right.

Yeah it would be cheaper just to add a sunroof to your mx3 than to do that type of body work.

IMHO, I'd stay away from this type of mod for performance reasons as well. The MX-3 already loses much structural rigidity due to it's oversized hatchback design. Although this can be somewhat mitigated with added internal cabin area bracing, putting in a targa top would only cause greater structural weakness. Del Sols are well known for the "roof flexies" anywhere from early on after purchased new, to after a few years use & I've heard numerous complaints of roof squeaks and leaks - annoying probs & also indicative that the Del Sol is flexing too much. Free advice and worth twice the price...

Well, the Del Sol is an unfair reference since it's a targa top, not a T-top.
