Hey guys...I've never done a brake job before. I'm got the manual and I'm planning on doing it myself with my roommate. Any tips?
JCali

I just plan on changing the discs and the pads...but I don't think the rotors are shot. How can you tell if the rotors are shot?

It's pretty straight forward IF the bolts aren’t seized

If the surface is really rough with grooves in it you may want to get them cut, you would need the measure the thickness of the rotor to see if can cut some off because you have minimum thickness that you can't go under.
Lube up the slides in the caliper REALLY good, this is the reason everyones rear disc brakes seize up, because the grease makes it out and dirty and grime make it in. So get a little thing a caliper lube and your good to go.
