Suspension Question?

Hi All,<P>I seem to be having some suspension problems.<BR>I would like to know what you guys think the problem might be. before i take the mech.'s word. the ride is really good untill i hit some cracks or bumps on the road, and then its a really loud clunk sound. its like the car is held up by steal rods instead of struts. but the ride is not wavey. or springy. just really stiff and rought over bumps and cracks on the road.<P>any help would be appreciated. <P>cheers<BR>Sal.
