kyb need customizing to fit?
I just got a set of kyb gr2s and they dont fit my brake calipers on my v6. the bolts dont match up. is there some sort of part i need to match them to fit or did the guy just send me the wrong springs. also, is there anyone out there who completely changed their suspension to the spec of another vehicle.... say an entire corvette suspension (just poking around to see whats available.)

wow, i dont even know what youre talking about.
KYBs make struts, not springs.
Struts dont attach to the brake calipers.
you cant interchange suspension parts.

Tekguy used Tokico Illuminatas from a MX-6 on his car with an adapter/spacer.

I've heard that the new Celica suspension is fairly close to our dimensions also.

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

just out of curiosity what color where your gr2's, cause they usually are grey , but mine came in the kyb gr2 box, and to my amazement, they were black, but with gr2 badging. I e-mailed the rep at kyb and he told me that the color depends on where the were manufactured,
so what color are they!
and trust me, I know they are Gr2's, does'nt event compare with the stoct ones, they're so much better!
92 mx-3 GS .greeeeeeeen!
Honda !!!, what do you mean Honda??
Oh sorry, you meant that piece of crap parked next to my car! oh sorry again, I meant to say lawnmower....

if they use the same block, and the holes for the pistons are bigger on a KL, then where does the KL gain ALL this weight over the K8?

Re: kyb need customizing to fit?
to all who gave legitimate responses... thank you. i appreciate your help. my gr2s are black and came in the gr2 box still the bolts on my STRUTS did not match up with my brake calipers at the bottom of the strut. i asked this to make sure i had the correct STRUT sent to me, or if they had sent one from another vehicle by mistake. this is obviously the case. secondly, thank you dave coleman for the insight as to the celica being close to ours. you obviously have common sense and could see where i was going with my inquiry. i thank mr coleman again, for i think i shall be using the celica suspension slightly modded to fit. thanks and
bye
furious
DC: edited for content
[ March 05, 2002: Message edited by: David Coleman ]

Re: kyb need customizing to fit?
and just for clarification the piece i am talking about is at the bottom of the strut in dave's foto. the mounts at the bottom with the 2 bolts and the nice brakeline beside it. which on my car have another bolt which also holds my caliper. those two bolts dont match up on mine so i believe they sent the wrong struts... in hindsight maybe i should have been a little more savvy and included pics like dave, yet i figured everyone here works on their cars and knew the mount i was getting at on the backside of the caliper.
