I live in wisconsin right now..and will be here for a while..not sure where to check to find out whats the states legal limit for window tint..i heard it was 15 to 20% but does anyone know? and is anyone else from wisconsin on this board?

There's no way they allow that much on the sides. MAYBE they'd allow 20% on the rear hatch. But on the sides, it's probably the same as Illinois (and all other midwest states for that matter) at 50%.

If they are like Oregon, the DOT will have a web site and a downloadable copy of the driver's manual. That should tell you what the tint limit is.

in most states to my knowledg its 35% to be legal. the rear window can be as dark as you want as long as you have two side mirrors, and if you have rear side windows they can also be blacked out(like a 4 door). and the windshield has to be clear. except for like a sun shade or something like that on the top. and if a cop says any diff. hes just screwing with you, and you can get out of the ticket. i know my state the law is pending. so as of rite now they cant issue anyone a ticket. untill they reinstate the law.

It's 50% front as I thought. Then, 35% on the rears.
