Holy ****, Batman! 595 kw = 798 HP!!!!!<P>Healthy looking crank dampener.<P>Notice they dumped the cam belt tensioner for something a little more reliable, a turnbuckle with spherical rod ends.<P>Adjustable timing sprockets too!<P>The water pump pulley looks like it's missing. Reckon they be runnin' an electric pump?<P>What are those lines coming out of the plenum? Since it is an Aussy company, my guess is a Tec or Haltech.

that just goes to show, with a deep pocket book, some knowledge , a goal, and alot of drive can produce. Says there seeking a alternate power source, dunno why youd want over 800hp :), but for a 2.5 liter thats amazing...

so much for people thinkin that the KL series engines didnt have that much potential and that they can't handle boost.

However, I believe this was only(!) 1000-1200HP and I believe Ayrton came on the scene at the end of the turbo era. The rules allowed for only 1.5L in turbo engines and 3.0L in N/A engines, guess which one won? The N/A cars only won if the turbo cars broke, which they did frequently. The only thing this proved is that a team of well financed engineers can always concoct a way to excel within a set of rules. They were closer to 1500 hp during qualifying.
