Where do I find Titanium Internals??

Post by DigitalBlackICE »

Anyone have any ideas where to find titanium interals for a 2.5L engine for the common engine swap. I've been looking on Probe sites and cant find very much on this subject. I had a site bookmarked that sold a storker/titanium kit to push the 2.5 to 2.7L that could redline at 10K....hehehe, although I lost the url when my computer crashed. Anyone know what company I'm talking about? Email me at DigitalBlackICE@hotmail.com Thanks all.

i was wondering(i know, watch out now! :D ) about the rods and pistons. can i use the miata rods regardless of the piston i choose? or does the CR of the piston directly affect the size of the rod? reason is, they have the 1.8 miata rod measurements already. instead of taking out my rod and measuring it, i could just go ahead and get them, this i know. but i wasn't sure that if i up the CR, if that would alter the lenth of the rod. i wouldn't think so, but i figure it's better to ask.

the only thing to worry about here is deck protrusion. when my wiseco pistons were fitted in they had a protrusion of .040. which is not acceptable. flyin miata told me that .020 was within limits and that piston protrusion varied between engines. The length of the piston/ rod combo goes up but not enough to damage anything. just bumps the compression ratio. i had to machin the top or the piston to bring it down. instead of doin the .020 thing i went to flush taking into consideration that these are forged and they will expand. now instead of the 9.0:1, i have 8.0:1. i had him measure the cr just to know for sure. so expect to do some machine work to get the numbers you want. the good part is that its not expensive so i guess it doesnt matter
:D

ok, then it sounds like it would defeat the purpose of getting higher CR pistons if i have to shave it down. reason why i was asking is because the bpt rods are no longer available. they give you miata rods instead. since miata has a higher CR than the bpt(bpt 8.2:1 and the miata 9.?:1), i wasn't sure how it all came together.

Funny like that.. Doesn't higher compression bring in more Hp? If those are reenforced right, what can bring a problem to high compression engine with boost?
Timing, Air in cylinder, or what else? I know you could get higher Hp number with higher compression. If Air is a problem, BLT is swaping a N/A to a GT-X and bring the number to 203hp, instead of 173. Can that be that the N/A head get more air? or increase compression?!
Thanks for any info ;)

The '99 BP Miata head flows the best out of all the BP cylinder heads. It just depends on design.
