Supercharger Mounting Position

Post by wyldside »

Someone told me that one option I could try is to mount the supercharger on top of the engine towards the passenger side firewall. Then just modify the hood to fit it. What you guys think about that idea. The drive shaft thing that Jeff Abram uses seems like such a pain to setup, especially building the driveshaft to handle the RPM. sounds like a good idea.... if it can be done.... there's not a lot of room on that side... also you'll have to run you intake piping to and from the supercharger... it would be awesome if you could do it tho...mmmm a reliably supercharged MX-3! ehhee

i have a powerdyne charger being put on my 2.5. the easiest way to mount it and the most efficient way is to put the fans on the other side of the rad so there is lots or room to run the drive shaft over to the driver side. then you must plug the coolant lines on the driver side and re-route them as well at the one on the passenger side. the battery went in the back to make room for my fuel riser. the coolant bottle got relocated and the intake goes in the fender. all these things are important for mounting. this is the easiest way and the most effecient. my drive shaft is balanced to 9000 rpm just incase. i just need to get the piece made that goes from the charger to the intake and mount the blow-by valve. and then of course dyno to tune.
klze, custome supercharger setup, powerdyne BD 10 charger, holly fuel pump, full stand alone fuel managment (SDS) MSD ignition with blaster coil and much more..
