after reading maldos post I'm gettin kind of leary about the swap. I mean w/ proper tuning shouldnt it be possible to run mid 13's w/ the stock internals with good amounts of boost and engine managment? i mean s---, im not gonna pump out the money just to be able to keep up w/ stock v-tec hondas!
please prove me wronge and say that this is the wonder motor i hope it is.
ps. would the bp block fit to the b6t head? and if so would that block be sturdier? also will the first gen. miata intake manifolds bolt up? and if not what will? im trying to get around the hole in the hood.
thanx in advance

No, the b6 head will not fit the bp block. the bp engines are 22mm longer than the b6's. the b6's have webbing on the block like that of a honda b16. The BPT does not have that webbing. And yes, the miata intake manifold will bolt up. What does a diff. intake have to do with a hole in the hood?

The engine sits straight up in the compartment and the intake manifold hits the hood. You can compensate by putting the MX-3 head and intake on the b6t block.

The swap is definitely worth it. My times sucked because of my clutch, which I pulled yesterday and there was nothing left of the disc. My new ACT will be in this week. I have an FC3S fuel pump on its way. Going to do some careful tuning with the S-AFC. Hopefully I don't have to replace the pistons for some time now. I obviously ran real lean, piston #1 was obliterated, #2 was cracked but not in pieces. The head goes in today for a 3-angle valve job and pocket porting. The manifolds and in/ex ports of the head have all been match ported. The pistons I am using are 9:1 from my old B6e, the valve reliefs will have to be enlarged but they will work. I am also removing any casting marks on the rods and head that I can. I will be able to make the same amount of power with less boost - hopefully. I will keep you updated on how things go. I hope to have it running for next week.

The B6e manifold will not fit. The head from the b6t may be a different story, it may fit. Not sure why you would want to use the sohc head, huge loss of power. The exhaust valves are much smaller than the b6t valves. You would have to swap to the B6e piston for the smaller valve reliefs. The design of the head is no where near the calibre of the b6t, same as the miata head not being as good.

I have the 1.6 DOHC in my car now.. what parts can change over and what parts will I need to get??? any help would be great!
