four cyl swap info

does anyone know if a 1999 or newer protege engine will be a dirct swap into a 93 SOHC..

99 protege is a DOHC (different mounts different harness, ECU etc.) it won't just fit in as a regular 93 SOHC

thanks for the quick reply..so why does a bgt and bpt fit in dirctly to the SOHC mx-3??<BR>thanks

The BPT, B6T, B6e, B6ZE are all B series motors. This is the motor that the mx-3 was designed around/for. The newer motors in the Protege are FSZE (I believe that is correct), making it much harder to squeeze into the MX-3 chassis.

tell me what are all the b series engines out there and what the b6,b6t,bp,bpt and all others stand for and what car they come out of.
