ok here we go: ive got a 92 SOHC rs and i decided on zex. from what ive heard these things will help keep my motor in tact: Protege LX ECU, injectors, 2nd gen. rx-7 fuel pump, and maybe an apexi SAfc to boot. is this stuff compatable and is there anything else i should need? thanx in advance

The beauty of the Zex kits is that it has a pressure switch that shuts off the system when there isn't enough fuel pressure to run the nitrous effeciently. That being said, it is technically the safest system on the market. You should be able to run just the Zex kit by itself without the added components. The kit is designed that way. You should make sure that your motor is up to par, get a good tune up. The only thing I would look into is the higher flowing fuel pump to help ensure that you have a steady supply of fuel. Unless you are adding over 50hp, your injectors will be fine. You could upgrade to the LX injectors if you wanted that extra space in case you wanted more hp later. (I have a set for sale if you want them). I don't think the new ecu is necessary. I don't think there is a big enough difference between the SOHC injectors and that of the Pro LX ones to warrant the S-AFC since you would be going from about 195cc to 230cc. You could get it just the same if you have the money.
Another good option is to talk to one of Zex's reps and see what they suggest.

All of the latest Nitrous kits have very good safety features and are reliable.
The only things you need are maturity and self control to keep your engine and the cops from blowing up in your face.
RF

now this sounds kind of dinky but how does one s--- when using nitrous? the same? if its set up for WOT will it shut off immediatly after i let off gas? i.e. when i shift? also, when racing when nitrous is activated having it at wot from start to shift is probly not all that good for the engine right? how do u cure the urge to mash the gas?
thanx in advance

shifting is very easy with nitrous. yes it will shut off in between shifts but if u are shifting quick enough u wont notice the difference. as for off the line launching, you shouldnt be wot off the line. nitrous should not be engaged under 2500 rpm. ive noticed with my nitrous setup that i will spin the tires bad trying to launch with the nitrous on. what i would suggest would be to feather the clutch with the throttle at 80% at launch, after you start to move punch it. its either that or get a proggressive nitrous controller.
