T U R B O question

Does anyone here have or know someone with a turbo charged 1.8L v6 engine? I went to turbo charged my car but the only company I know that makes it for the mx-3 is Thomas Knight Turbos and I have no idea if they are good or not.<P>If you have any info about turbos for the 1.8, I would appreciate.<P><BR>Thanks,<BR>nic :cool:

(but this is just an idea)

for the people that have super charged or slapped a tubro on the 1.6l dohc how much did it cost and what parts did you use??

from what i've gathered, he's an @$$(i know this one first hand), his prices are high, but he seems to have good product.

i've heard bad stories about his products as well. They don't exactly "bolt on" like they should and require lots of other work and tuning to get them working properly. You'd think for the amount of money he charges, you'd atleast get a finished product

well i talked to thomas knight for about a month before i made my purchase and i am very satisfied with it but i guess everyone has there moments and thier days.

i recommend custom job all the way....TKT hadnt have a good reputation over in the probe/mx6 community either [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]

I have seen pictures of some of his product... lets just say it looks as though as it's concievable that I could eat a bunch of meatl and vomit a better looking turbo kit! Plus he is an a--hole and his stuff is very expensive. Your best bet is custom!

a custom turbo kit is a very good way to go. tom knight is for the people that just want a simple bolt on turbo kit with no hassles from having to gather parts. my kit came with everything I needed from the fuel pump to the intercooler with all the hard piping. and doesnt look bad at all. everything bolts up and is put together very well. you could expect around 200 hp from the kit alone--what u do from there will only make it better. the turbo that the kit comes with is the t3 super 60 and that turbo is capable of 325-350 hp. this is the biggest t3 available. from what I understand this turbo kit from knight turbos is extremely rare and only 5 or 6 of them were made. the option of a custom turbo kit is great in the way that you get to chose everthing to fit your needs but could be time consuming and a pain if everything isnt done at once.. i recomend the tk turbo kit if you want a kit on in a day or so.

i would go with what brainless said. Is cheaper..way cheaper to do the swap of the kl-03 or kl-ze (KL-ZE best bet) engines. you can get from 30hp to almost 70hp just by swaping the engine.. :D
