I agree. Eagle one ethching cleaner. the only problem is that it takes off the protective coating of the rims so you may have to respray the rims with some clear coat.

I used Simple Green and a soft bristle wheel brush. Look 10 years newer.

Personally I am yet to use a spray on cleaner that gives a good as clean as a litlle bit of elbow grease.. Go to any car store and pick up some "bight shine wadding".. It is polish build into a wadding cloth.. You break a bit off and rub on.. it works instantly.. I hate some serious road works happening outside my place and in all the little grooves was solid tar.. No spray worked but this stuff took it off no worries.. The best part is it doesn't harm your protective coating.. it actually adds another layer off protection.. It comes in a yellow tin and will only cost about $4

I don't think our wheels ever had a clear coat. I use the Eagle One Mag Cleaner (for non-clearcoated wheels.) Does a great job without scrubbing. For really stubborn stuff, a wheel brush and the Eagle One works wonders.<p>I have some clean wheel pictures on page 8 of my Cardomain page. Compare them to the earlier pages and you can really see the difference.
