The ONLY way that I would trust Maaco is if I did the prep work myself (sanding, masking, etc) and drove the car there on a trailer for them to spray the primer and paint. I think that they skimp out on the prep work and that makes the paint look bad and not stick worth s---. Plus, I am not sure if they include a clearcoat with that price. If so, it would be only 1 coat.

For the the ambassidor paint job, they wont go down to bare metal, they'll just strip the clear coat off the paint thats all ready on there and then paint over it, a clear coat is included, but its only like 1 coat.

A really good paint job from Maaco with a 4 year warrenty is $700. I had a quote a couple months ago.

Maaco's paint jobs go from $249 up to a few grand, depending on what you want. The ambassador is the cheapest, hardly any work is done, from there up they will put more clear coats on, strip down to metal, etc.

Keep in mind those cheap paint jobs are not color changes. They will not do your door jams etc and they only offer that deal when business is slow. If you want a good quality paint job your looking at atleast a $1000 for a complete. I know a guy who got that cheap paint job on his swift he wanted orange so they did it just all the outer stuff, and now its peeling off literally and yea can see the original blue everywhere. If you want to do it yourself it is a LOT of work and really only worth it if you can get access to the tools.

Yeah, well the guy at the Maaco here said I could have any color I wanted as long as it stayed within a blue and green category, which gave me like 15-20 colors to choose from, but if you want some outrageous, then thats gonna jack the price up a lot.
