Can anyone tell me what you use for painting or dyeing the dashboard or air vents. I tried it once, using alcohol cleaner and a light sanding, and the paint kept bubbling up anyway ?. What else can I try now?

I found that the alcohol left this white crap on my dash. So I just took a cloth and water and wiped and sprayed it down. For paint I used hobby paint from a hobby store... it's enamel and doesn't chip that easy... also you can get some really wierd and kewl looking colours. Check my site for some pics... not good ones but they are there.

Canadian Tire my friend - they sell paint specific for dashes. 7-8 coats and it doesn't come off. I love it.

Yeah, I had the bubbling problem with some vents. I just took off the paint before it dried and sanded it more, it looked fine afterwards. I used some stuff from Pepboys, cant remember what its called. LOL. But it looks tight.

Pep Boys is where to go in the US... They are becoming more and more of a custom shop and carrying stuff that is import goods. They have allwayz been good at carrying things other shops dont, but they seem to be getting better. I hear they are going to launch a massive advertising campain that just shows the customization cars and stuff.

Yeah, Pepboys are getting good with carrying a lot of import stuff. The import isle is mostly APC stuff for Civic's, Accords and Integra's, but you can still get some good pedals, neon, gauges, etc. from them as well.

SoDangPretty - check canadiantire.ca I think the paint sells in like 4-5 different colours (not the best I agree) but the actual paint works amazingly. I used white to match my car's colour and I think it looks cool. I'm going to finish the rest of it next week (I did the other stuff during march break)
