engine specs

I would like to know the different years that the 1.6L 16valve SOHC (NOT DOHC) were installed in MX-3's. <BR>What were the Horsepower ratings on this motor compared to the 8 valve version.<P>Lastly, I would like to do some general mods to the motor to get approx 110 hp from this motor (no engine swaps, boost, nitrous)<P>PLEASE REPLY TO:

The 92-93 model years of the rs had the 1.6 sohc engine. It was rated at 88hp. I dont know how it compares to the 8 valve version though.<BR>Jim<BR>93 RS

A cold Air Intake and a 2.5 exhaust with straight thru muffler and cat converter in place of the stock catalityc is a good place to start, good ponies! modifying fuel curve and timing goes after that...<P>------------------<BR>Alberto<BR>1993 Mx-3 1.6l Se<BR>Brilliant Black!

2.5'' catback exhaust on a 1.6?? Bye-bye back pressure. I'd go with 2.25'' max<P>------------------<BR>~'94 GS
